21st Century Curriculum, Collaboration, & Critique
Limited Capacity seats available

What is the difference between "learning art" and "learning to be an artist"? We explore the function behind our curriculum and construct a vision of the ideal student we want to emerge from our class. By restructuring the way we teach and the focus of our class, we can shift the responsibility of growth back onto our students. We will explore why collaborating and critique are important for development. Drawing on research, as well as classroom experience, we'll dive into the why and the how to develop this in your classroom. By carefully curating a sequence of skills and allowing for a gradual release of responsibility, we can transform the way our students view not only their own work, but the creative process in general.
