Gina Spears has been teaching dance in CPS for over 20 years. A CPS Framework Specialist and an Arts Instruction Specialist, Gina has experience in developing workshops, resources, study groups, and professional development for arts educators.  She is mentoring new teachers in CPS through the New Teacher Cohort and is also a mentor nationally through the National Dance Education Organization.  She teaches dance at Portage Park Elementary School, where she is well known for her love of crazy socks and her annual end of school year ABC Dance Countdown.  Gina has two children, a senior at Taft High School and a freshman at Disney II Magnet.
