To stimulate and nurture collaborative work between teachers and arts education partners, Ingenuity and the CPS Department of Arts Education are excited to present this year’s Arts Education Conference: Collaborating for Quality.
Participants will come away from this session with the tools to assist students in the interpretation of visual art and to help them use all their language skills to convey their understanding. They will be equipped to take English Language Learners to a place of agreed-upon rules for discussion, helping them build upon the remarks of others while engaging each other in authentic discussions of the visual content under study.
Jeremie Lappe is an accomplished art teacher at Moos School with a strong handle on the use of culturally-relevant materials and information that taps into student backgrounds and interests.
